Calvary Baptist Church

Worship starts with Sunday School.  Join us every Sunday at 9:30am as we learn more about God and his plan for our lives.  Classes discuss at 10:25am, right in time for worship.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.."
Psalm 32:8

Students age 3 through 4th grade learn about the Bible in an active, hands-on class.  Kids experience powerful connections between Scripture and everyday life by engaging all five of their senses. The Bible comes alive!

Grades 5 through 8 focus on weekly Bible Study and developing a prayer life. It is an activity based class designed for this age group. As American Baptists, we learn the purpose and importance of Believer’s Baptism.  This class stresses service projects such as feeding the birds in the Serenity Garden, collecting food for the Food Bank, making gifts for our veterans, and sending handmade cards and gifts to our home-bound members.

Students in 9th-12th grade are reading various translations of the same verses in order to have a better understanding of familiar verses. We also answer questions teens face every day. Students interpret the word differently and we work to find the meaning of the message as well as the answer to our question.

This class focuses on the stories, history, characters, and major themes that Christians are often times expected to know from childhood. Classes are in a judgment-free discussion based format where no assumptions are made on how much knowledge the members have on the topic. This class is great for new Christians who wish to expand their knowledge of the Bible or experienced Christians who want to learn from a new perspective.

See how the Bible is alive today by relating it to news events happening here and now.  Each week, your Sunday School leader brings a topic of current events to discuss, including how the topic relates to Bible teachings and scripture.

Seekers and visitors interested in learning more about American Baptist Churches or who want to become members are welcome to this class with our Pastor.  In this class, students learn about the history of Baptists, what we believe, and the structure of our church.
